Yes my 04 is a V6 and I am taking into account it doesn't have the power to blast the tires loose when I feel like it. With that unplugged, you don't have to press in your brake any more. I look forward to investing in the mods you suggest and having a great summer of fun with the V8 convertible. It ended up being the torque converter, which ofcourse is inside the bell housing. Included in that tune is a complete remapping of the automatic transmission shift points along with increased line pressure for firm, tire-chirping immediate shifts. I can find some infos in about that problem and some of the solutions is changing fluid with Mercon V, tranny cooler and some kind of adjustment.
Upgrade your automatic transmission for firmer, positive, tire chirping shifts with a Performance Automatic Shift Kit that is perfect for Street and Strip. Thanks for the help and comments. Before the fluid change, it felt a little crisper. I have an auto myself, along with a shift kit and 4. It gives me some ideas on what the car I am looking at can look like.
Were the radiator cooler and lines ever flushed out on those installations? As far as performance goes, it will not hinder it. Then with out diagnostic codes would be to replace computer. My comment was not intended to offend anyone in here. The j-mod will sharpen up the shifts so that the transmission will shift like a pit bull! I was also thinking about a cooler. I bought it about 4 months ago with around 38000 miles. Dropped 11 qts during the change.
Do you use it around town? Is there a shift kit you recommend? Other than that it's a great product! I finally took it to Ford and they suggested changing the fluid and adding some sort of friction modifier. Thanks and hopefully this isn't too dumb of a question. Nice, tire chirping, firm shifts! Installation Time: Afternoon December 22, 2014 2001 Mustang Gt Convertible This is a great product that every mustang owner should consider! Sometimes its first thing in the morning. The trans fluid mess was the worse thing. Toyota added a button right next to the shifter that, if the shifter will not move, you can push and override the problem. There is a allen set screw in front, but after screwing it out,I could not get the handle off. I will google the part you referenced me to.
Be great if you could provide recommendations on the shift kit. Specially if you've upgraded to 410 gears as i did. A manual 5 speed transmission would have been a better choice. Was asked the question by me how is it that th dealer's shop foreman felt the abnormal vibration and he didn't, his response was that it all ended with him no matter who found what!!! That means that for every 1 full revolution of the rear wheels, the drive shaft spins 3. There is a large post here on this website about other people who own the Gt who are also having problems with their transmissions.
I would highly recommend to anyone with a 4R70W transmission this kit and service the filter and solenoids if high millage and definitely some Lucas! Add an auxillary cooler to reduce heat and your transmission should last a long time. I never had to use it, but it certainly sounds like it would be alot easier then crawling underneath the steering wheel and disconnecting a wire or pin. Dealership admits that Ford service reps are aware of other cars with same symptoms. The brake lights work and all. The problem went away only to re-appear the next day. Don't want to tear up the transmission, but I do want to let is perform as a Mustang should.
Make sure you have power to the transmission computer. I might save a little on labor. God knows how long the plastic will hold up in my 98. Later went on test drive and stated that he felt there was no problem. That tiny disappointment is there though. My problem is that my check engine and abs lights are appearing on my dashboard.
Do you really think the stock transmission will learn how I would like to drive it? This is the 2nd Mustang 5spd transmission I have purchased through the dealership and Ford that has the same problem. I wasn't the original owner of this car or know who ones it before so don't know if there was a kit installed before I installed it. As far as the 5 speeds being a better choice, it's up in the air. You can't beat a kit that was designed by one of Ford's Transmission Engineers, period. Testdrove the car and stated he felt no problem either!. I will also look into changing the gears as you have suggested. Installation Time: Afternoon March 30, 2014 no difference I installed on my 2003 mach 1 and really have not felt a difference.
