The contact experienced no failures at the time of the complaint. We have owned it approximately 3 weeks now. The dealership said that a electronic part was putting out too much voltage and that is what caused the problem. The dealer replaced the power steering column however, the failure persisted. So the risk to any given driver is often remote, even though there may be a few high-profile incidents traced to the problem.
